February is Black History Month, an opportunity to honour, celebrate and reflect on the stories, experiences, and accomplishments of Black Canadians.
So who was Joseph C. Harrison?
He was born in 1814 on the Hemmingway plantation in Boston, Massachusetts. He escaped at the age of 14 and renamed himself Harrison, removing the name his owner had given him.

Agriplex Elevator Currently Out of Service

Please be advised that the elevator at the Stratford Agriplex is currently out of service.
The contractor is awaiting the required parts to be able to repair the elevator, which will remain unavailable until the repairs are complete.
We will provide a further update on the status of the elevator as soon as possible.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
UPDATE: The elevator has been repaired, and is available for use.
New Transit Benches Installed in Stratford

Over the past few weeks, nearly 20 new benches have been installed at transit stops in Stratford through a partnership between the City of Stratford and Creative Outdoor.
The rugged, all-weather benches are suitable for the various types of weather in Stratford, and also meet provincial accessibility guidelines.
Up to 10 more benches will be added next year.

Are you interested in volunteering at Santa's Parade of Lights on Sunday, December 4?Volunteer roles and responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the marshaling of floats into starting positions along the parade route.
- Attending barricades at road closures along the parade route.
- Walking alongside the parade as it moves to ensure members of the public do not enter the route.
