The City of Stratford has roadway and drainage improvements scheduled on O’Loane Avenue between Galt Road and Perth Line 36 this summer.
These improvements are scheduled to begin on or about August 3, 2020, with an estimated completion date on or about December 7, 2020. The specific improvements scheduled for this street are:

Starting July 5, 2020, the City of Stratford will move to an on-demand system for its Sunday transit service.
“On-demand will allow our Sunday service to meet the current needs of our customers while routing vehicles only to requested stops,” said Stratford Transit Manager Michael Mousley. “Customers will be able to schedule a ride based on their own timeframes and desired stops, giving passengers more flexibility in getting to their destination.”

On March 22, the Province of Ontario made provisions for certain child care centres to remain open to support health care and other frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Spaces are allocated in order of application and are only available to those on the list of workers eligible for emergency child care who have exhausted all other possibilities for child care. In order to provide some relief from the extreme heat this week, especially for our most vulnerable citizens, the City of Stratford has opened a cooling centre in the lobby of the Community Hall at the Rotary Complex at 353 McCarthy Road West.
The air conditioned facility will be open to the public today (Wednesday, May 27) until 7 p.m., and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The #3 McCarthy bus will stop at the Community Hall during that period.
There are washrooms on site, and water is available.
