The City of Stratford would like to acknowledge a generous donation of potentially life-saving equipment to help local first responders and front-line workers in the battle against COVID-19.
Several thousand surgical face masks, KN-95 respirator masks and safety glasses arrived in Stratford earlier this week, and will be shared by the Stratford Police Service, the Stratford Fire Department, and other organizations in Stratford and Perth County in need of personal protective equipment (PPE).
The masks were provided at no cost by Mr. Gong Wei, a businessperson from China, and Mr. Li ChangSen, a Stratford resident. The delivery of the equipment to Stratford was facilitated by the Canadian Consulate in Guangzhou.
“We are extremely grateful to Mr. Gong and Mr. Li for such an important, timely and generous donation,” said Mayor Dan Mathieson. “As the COVID-19 pandemic grows more serious, this equipment is absolutely vital for the safety of our front-line workers and the people they serve.
“And it’s a wonderful example of people helping people in times of need, whether they’re reaching out from within the community, or from across the globe,” added Mayor Mathieson.
