The City of Stratford is aware of encampments within our community, including the site near the Downie Street parking lot.

As the City’s lead for housing and homelessness services, our Social Services department continues to work directly with individuals at these locations to support their immediate safety and well-being, while also helping them move toward permanent, appropriate housing.

The second phase of the Huron Street reconstruction project is scheduled to begin on Monday (June 8), and will require some traffic shifting and temporary lane closures.

The project involves the reconstruction of Huron Street between Huntingdon Avenue and the Roadhouse Drain (just east of Matilda Street), and will include not only rebuilding the roadway, but also new watermains, storm and sanitary sewers and intersection improvements.
