Extreme Heat
We have an Extreme Heat policy that outlines steps we will take during periods of extreme heat.
These steps are taken when:

two or more consecutive days of daytime maximum temperatures are forecast to reach 31°C or higher, and nighttime minimum temperatures are expected to be 20°C; or warmer, or two or more consecutive days of humidex values are forecast to reach 40°C or higher.

Actions we will take:

Welcome the public to use the Stratford Rotary Complex at 353 McCarthy Road West as a cooling centre between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m;

Welcome the public to use the Stratford Public Library as a cooling centre during regular business hours

When possible, offer free swims at Lions Pool and extend hours of operation;
The Anne Hathaway Park splash pad near the corner of Downie Street and Bruce Street is also open daily from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
