What is a Respectful Community?

We all have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. Respect is one of the foundational pillars for the City of Stratford's Corporate Values and supports our Municipality's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. A respectful community encourages everyone to behave courteously, be professional, and show the same respect for others as an individual would wish for themselves.

The City of Stratford is committed to supporting our citizens, our employees' and members of Council’s right to engage in an inclusive, safe and respectful environment.

Public Conduct Policy

This policy contributes to the City's objective of dealing with all members of the public in ways that are respectful, consistent, and fair while acknowledging that there may be a need to protect City staff, members of Council, and other members of the public from inappropriate behavior in any form arising from the use of a City facility or service. Code of Conduct - Council, Local Boards, and Committees

The Code of Conduct shall apply to all members of City Council, including representatives or members of local boards and committees, including but not limited to, any citizens appointed by City Council to a board and/or committee as defined in the Municipal Act, 2001.

Respectful Workplace Policy H.1.36 - Employees
