Notice Regarding Eligibility of an English Public School Board Trustee Candidate

The City of Stratford has determined that Jamie-Lee Wagler is ineligible to run for the office of English Public School Board Trustee in the 2026 Stratford Municipal and School Board Election.

Under the Education Act, R.S.O. 1990 and the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, a school board employee seeking election as a trustee must meet specific eligibility requirements, including taking an unpaid leave of absence for the prescribed period.

As the candidate does not meet the statutory eligibility requirements for the office, any votes cast for Jamie-Lee Wagler for English Public School Board Trustee will not be counted. Should an elector cast a vote for Ms. Wagler the votes for other candidates on the ballot will still be included in the voting results.
