Waterloo Street Temporary Road Closure August 27, 2026

Work on the resurfacing of Waterloo Street continues.

The contractor is expected to finish paving the section of Waterloo between Douro Street and Albert Street on Wednesday, Aug. 26, and will then begin work on the section between Ontario Street and Lakeside Drive.

Weather permitting, work on that next section is scheduled to begin Thursday, Aug. 27.

The southbound lanes of Waterloo Street between Ontario Street and Mornington Street will be closed to through traffic Thursday, Aug. 27, for approximately three weeks.

Signs will be in place to detour traffic around the construction area, along Mornington Street to Huron Street.

Northbound traffic on Waterloo Street between Ontario Street and Mornington Street will be maintained.

Local traffic access will also be maintained for vehicles travelling:

• westbound on Cobourg Street (one way) across Waterloo Street
• eastbound on Water Street (one way) across Waterloo Street from Veterans Drive
