Last Minute Ice

The City of Stratford offers Last Minute Ice at a discounted rate when arena ice is available during lower-use periods. This program helps make ice time more accessible to the community through a fair, consistent, and transparent process.

Last Minute Ice is available to individuals, groups, and organizations booking ice for recreational activities, educational programs, athletic use, and social activities.

Availability and Booking

• Last Minute Ice may be available up to 72 hours in advance.
• Available times are posted on the online availability calendar.
• If a time slot does not show “Purchase Ice”, it is not available for booking.
• Bookings are sold in minimum 1-hour blocks, which include 10 minutes for ice maintenance.
• Rate: $70.00 per hour
• Once a booking is purchased, it cannot be changed or modified.

Last Minute Ice is intended for short-notice bookings only. It does not replace regular single bookings or recurring contracts, and it cannot be used to cancel or replace previously scheduled rentals.

Proof of Purchase

A confirmation email will be sent after payment is completed. Participants must be able to show proof of purchase to facility staff upon request.

Safety and Participation Requirements

To help ensure a safe experience for everyone:

• Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult while on the ice.
• Children under 12 must wear a CSA-approved helmet.
• Participants 12 and older are strongly encouraged to wear a CSA-approved helmet.
• All participants must wear skates on the ice.
• Footwear other than skates are not permitted on the ice surface.
• Strollers are not permitted on the ice surface.

Arena Operations

Ice maintenance and flood scheduling are determined by arena staff based on operational needs. A flood is not guaranteed for lower-use Last Minute Ice rentals.

The City may cancel or modify a Last Minute Ice booking at its sole discretion. If this happens, the City will provide as much notice as possible.

Any user who intentionally provides inaccurate participant information or attempts to get around booking requirements may be denied future reservation requests.

Fees

Last Minute Ice is offered at the current rate established by the City:

• Flat rate: $70.00 per hour
