The City of Stratford held a successful emergency exercise on Thursday, October 23, 2025 that brought together municipal employees, emergency services and community partners for a mock disaster in the northeast corner of the city.
This year’s live exercise “Toto” simulated the aftermath of a tornado strike that devastated the area near the River Gardens Retirement Residence on Romeo Street, with multiple injuries, damaged infrastructure, flipped vehicles, downed trees and power outages.

Stratford City Council Approves Warming Centre for Individuals Experiencing Homelessness

The City of Stratford and its community partners will move ahead with a plan to expand support for individuals experiencing homelessness.
At a special meeting Monday, October 20, 2025, Stratford City Council unanimously approved a motion to activate a warming centre at the Connection Centre at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Stratford, to be operated by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Huron Perth.

This is National AccessAbility Week, an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the ongoing efforts of those who are working to remove barriers in our community.
For the past 14 years, the City of Stratford’s Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) has presented its Accessibility Award to acknowledge one business, organization or individual in Stratford that has worked hard to make their space or service more accessible to everyone.
