Stratford – On March 22, the Province of Ontario made provisions for certain child care centres to remain open to support health care and other frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Monday, April 27, spaces became available at Anne Hathaway Day Care Centre in Stratford from 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. for children aged 12 months to 12 years. The City of Stratford will proceed with the reconstruction of a 1.6-kilometre stretch of Huron Street after receiving $3 million in funding from the Province of Ontario.
The Connecting Links funding, which helps municipalities repair and maintain roads and bridges that connect to provincial highways, was announced on Thursday, May 7 by Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece.
“This much-needed and much-appreciated funding will help renew a key piece of the City’s infrastructure,” said Mayor Dan Mathieson.

The City of Stratford has appointed Tatiana Dafoe as its new City Clerk, effective immediately.
Stratford City Council approved the appointment at a special meeting on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.
Ms. Dafoe began her career with the City of Stratford in 2017 as Deputy Clerk, and was appointed as Acting City Clerk on August 1, 2019.
