The Salvation Army recently opened a Housing Resource Centre for residents in Stratford, Perth County, and St. Marys.
The Centre, funded by the City of Stratford Social Services Department, helps people to find and maintain permanent housing, and focuses on individuals and families who are experiencing housing instability, homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness.

The City of Stratford Social Services Department, in partnership with local community organizations, has committed to the ambitious goal of ending chronic homelessness in Stratford, St. Marys and Perth County by 2024. The first step in achieving this goal is to reduce the number of individuals experiencing chronic homelessness by 10% this year. We cannot do this alone. July 27, 2020 – As a result of recent rainfall, the City of Stratford has lifted its ban on open air fires that require a burn permit, effective immediately.
Burn permits will be issued by appointment only, by calling the Stratford Fire Department at 519-271-3212.
Recreational fires in backyard fire pits continue to be allowed in Stratford, providing they comply with City of Stratford By-law 5-2006. Recreational fires do not require a permit.

The City of Stratford is planning for a phased re-opening of its administrative offices.
Effective Monday, July 27, 2020, City Hall offices and both Fire Stations will open to the public by appointment for services that cannot be provided online or over the telephone. Examples of in-person appointments include obtaining marriage licences, commissioning of documents, and conducting civil ceremonies in the Council Chamber.
