The City of Stratford is moving forward with plans to redevelop the former Grand Trunk property just outside the downtown core.
Keeping the community informed and engaged continues to be a significant part of the planning process for this generational project, which could include a shared community facility, housing, outdoor amenity space and parking.
Here is an update on the next steps for the Grand Trunk renewal:
APRIL 9 - WORKSHOP #3
On April 9, a third and final Grand Trunk workshop will be held for City Council, aimed at giving councillors the details they need to make an informed decision on the future of the property. Workshop #3 will provide an overview of the first two workshops, and will touch on:

No decisions will be made at this workshop.
APRIL 20 - SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
On Monday, April 20 starting at 6 p.m., a special City Council meeting will be held to give residents an opportunity to share their input on the Grand Trunk renewal project.

APRIL 27 – REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
At its regular meeting scheduled for Monday, April 27 starting at 7 p.m., City Council will consider a management report with recommendations, including a proposed municipal contribution toward a shared community facility, and will provide direction on the next phase of the project.
