The City of Stratford will be holding its final Household Hazardous Waste collection of the year this Saturday (September 26) for residents to drop off materials labelled as corrosive, explosive, flammable or poisonous.
The collection will take place in the northwest parking lot of the Rotary Complex, 353 McCarthy Road West, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The City of Stratford is continuing with its hydrant repainting program, which began in the fall of 2018 and will see every hydrant in the City repainted over a three-year period to meet the National Fire Protection Agency colour code.
Hydrants will receive a surface preparation, a primer coat, and a final coat.

The City of Stratford has partnered with Rhyzome Networks to offer free WiFi service to educators and students in an initiative aimed at supporting safe social distancing at local schools.
New equipment will be added and adjustments made to expand and amplify the WiFi signal in strategic locations in Stratford, including the area around Stratford District Secondary School and St. Michael Catholic Secondary School, as well as at other green spaces throughout the city.

In 2014, the 10-Year Housing & Homelessness Plan for Stratford, Perth County, and St. Marys (2014-2024) came into effect. This Plan guided the development and delivery of programs, supports, and services to address housing instability and homelessness locally.
Beginning in Fall 2018, the Social Services Department began reviewing the Plan to make sure that it continued to reflect local needs and took into consideration policy and legislative changes at the provincial and national levels.

Beginning September 8, 2020, and continuing for approximately five weeks, flushing of fire hydrants will take place within the City of Stratford. Customers could experience some discoloured water.
